Bramble and thicket
How thick the wall we create
That prevents us from feeling
Or knowing our fate
Bramble and thicket
Made of fears, dissatisfaction and lies
Choking us off from truth
And intentions disguised
Bramble and thicket
It pierces our skin
A contrast of love, our spirit
And our treasures within
Bramble and thicket
Clear it
Then burn it
Demolish the weed
There is nothing to save
But a reminder to
Watch over our seed.
And now that it is gone
Nothing left to fear
We can see the beauty
That was always here

Love the painting and poem Janet! I really like the analogy of bramble and thicket! Certainly better than the wall. It could give you a peek through where you are stronger… Thanks for the perspective…
So delighted that you like them both Marco. What a great way to look at the thicket, it does allow us to see a little light, thank you!
Bravo! Beautiful poetry and painting Janet!
Thanks so much Shannon!
Both are wonderful. As I was reading bramble and thicket I started thinking about Round Up. 🙂
Wow a painter and a Poet .. Well I am really not surprised! 🙂 Well done !!!
Hey Bill that is so sweet of you to say, the poems come sporadically. I believe it was inspired by the title it was calling for a poem. Thanks so much!
Ha! Too Funny! Especially this time of the year Cheryl, thank you so much 🙂
